IV nutritional therapy is a therapeutic treatment using intravenous fluids to rehydrate and revive your body. IV hydration bypasses the digestive system and absorbs much more quickly and completely than fluids or supplements taken orally.
IV treatments at Boost Hydration are a safe and relaxing way to make sure you’re getting optimal hydration and nutrients, or to address a specific health concern. Explore our IV menu of available treatments, or contact our Costa Mesa hydration clinic for more information.
IV nutritional therapy is the fastest way to delivery hydrating fluids and essential nutrients throughout the body. Boost Hydration IV treatments can be used to prevent or cure a hangover, relieve migraine pain, help athletes recover faster or prepare for an event, improve the condition of skin and hair, enhance weight loss efforts and much more.
IV hydration works by delivering the hydration and essential nutrients your body craves directly into your bloodstream. Bypassing the digestive system means you’ll feel the effect of the fluids, electrolytes and vitamins more quickly and benefit from 100% absorption. Learn more about the advantages of IV therapy!
For optimal wellness and hydration, hydrating before and after a strenuous workout or big night of drinking is ideal. Hydrating before your big event will help to prevent dehydration and hydrating after will help treat dehydration. It’s always recommended to drink water throughout your activities to help keep your body hydrated along the way.

Yes! We welcome walk-ins for vitamin injections and IV treatments. We recommend calling ahead for approximate wait times.
Yes! IV therapy is completely safe. Ingredients are provided by reputable and accredited pharmacies and suppliers. Everything is prepared by our very own doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. LaLonde.
Treatments are painless and entail a swift pinch as the needle enters the vein. Most patients state they hardly feel any discomfort at all! Our experienced nursing staff will make your IV infusion as pleasant as possible.
Very! IV vitamin drips deliver essential nutrients, antioxidants, amino acids and other ingredients directly to the bloodstream. This gives your body a much higher concentration of vitamins compared to eating or drinking.
When you take vitamins by mouth (whether in pill, powder or liquid form) there’s a limit to how much gets absorbed (this can be affected by your genetics, overall health, age, metabolism and other factors) – roughly around 50%.
IV vitamins get absorbed much more quickly and at a much higher percentage (around 90%).
When you have higher concentrations of vitamins and nutrients in your bloodstream, it means your cells benefit from increased uptake so you feel the effects more.
Side effects are rare and usually minor. Some side effects may include: Bruising and soreness around the injection area, cooling sensation in the arm, a metallic taste in the mouth and/or a brief flushed feeling. Less common side effects include a risk of infection or an allergic reaction to the treatment. All side effects are short lived and completely treatable.
Depending on your hydration status you may see dramatic effects immediately after your first IV treatment. Once you start receiving regular IV therapy and your body becomes efficient in maximizing your hydration nutritional balance, results will feel less dramatic.
Everybody is different, so depending on your current health you could experience noticeable effects for up to 3-4 days after your treatment. Even if you don’t “feel” effects immediately or over the next few days, you’re still reaping the benefits. Your level of dehydration, other physical imbalances, and your unique physical makeup all factor in to how you feel after your treatment. IV therapy is a safe and effective way to restore and maintain well-being.
Frequency depends on your hydration needs and your choice of IV therapy. Our nursing staff will discuss which options are best: weekly, biweekly or monthly treatments and devise a total wellness plan right for you.
Shots and intravenous treatments are given with the direct supervision of Dr. John LaLonde and our experienced nursing staff will administer your IV Vitamin Therapy treatment. Each treatment protocol will be designed and approved by Dr. LaLonde.
